We are a family run Groundworks and Civil Engineering Company based on the North Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland. Operating since the late 1970s, we have grown substantially over the past few years, making us a Subcontractor of choice for many of the main NI and UK construction companies.
Our experience, knowledge of earthworks and engineering, use of modern machinery and GPS integrated technologies allows for the needs of a wide client base to be met. We are registered with Constructionline and Safe T Cert and comply with all the legislative requirements and licences required.
We are proud of our record, being continuously recognised as a Company who offers cost effective and practical solutions allowing projects to run smoothly. Our client retention is the biggest recommendation.
Our company can only succeed through the team that drives all our operations from on site to the office. We are thankful to have a dedicated team across the board from labours, skilled operatives, foremen through to our wider Management team. All staff are competently trained, holding the necessary accredited qualifications to carry out their roles. These people make McCormick Contracts Ltd!
Our modern fleet of heavy plant items, GPS machine control, along with experienced operators and supervisors enables us to tailor plant requirements to suit any client’s need.
Our expert team are up to date with all relevant qualifications and our safety standards are consistently high. We ensure that our staff are experienced and fully trained to operate all machinery on-site and that regular safety checks and assessments are carried out.
We have experience of crushing and processing large and small volumes of different varieties of material on site. Our quarry strips, borrow pit, and re-instatement projects are completed to consistently high standards. At McCormick Contracts, the use of innovative design whilst delivering safe, quality and environmentally advantageous solutions means cost and time considerations for the Client.
We plan for all possible challenges and hazards before commencement of any programme of work. Surveys and the use of the latest technology are crucial in ensuring demolition is carried out in the most cost efficient and least disruptive manner possible. Asbestos removal usually figures heavily in demolition schemes. With a long established and proven demolition excellence, we provide our clients with a reliable asbestos removal service for complete peace of mind in line with Government policies and legislation.
…because the soil is too wet, too cohesive, or simply too weak to provide a stable base. Historically this soil would mean replacement with new materials and aggregates. A process in itself adding time and further material costs to projects.
Soil Stabilisation enables contractors to maximise use of the site’s materials and obtain the properties that they need without removing unsuitable material and importing aggregates. This reduces overall cost, as well as waste, transport movements and carbon emissions. This is most beneficial in a time when sustainability figures highly and environmentally aware processes are welcome.
Soil stabilisation is a new area of work for McCormick Contracts but we have trained staff and operatives who can offer expert advice on the selection of the most appropriate method of soil stabilisation for any application. We work alongside an industry consultant to ensure that we are continually training and improving in our methods.
…and reduce costs when dealing with brownfield or contaminated sites. We use detailed site investigation and chemical screening to determine a ‘Materials Re-Use Plan’ for each contract. We provide comprehensive documentation that provides a thorough audit trail that tracks the identification, treatment, testing and ultimate outcome of all the processes involved.
Currently we operate with 22 track machines of varying sizes, these machines are GPS and 3D enabled. Crushing, Screening and Grading machinery further complements the offering from McCormick Contracts. We continually update and maintain our machinery to ensure we are offering a reliable service to Clients.
Crushing and screening materials provides a range of benefits to the Client:
Using GPS or UTS, this system provides us with the ability to complete complex design projects including carparks, sports fields, horse arenas, warehouses and roadwork in an efficient timescale to the exact specifications of the project. With this machinery, it is possible to eliminate all the additional checks, unnecessary rework and extra overheads. Using Leica machine control systems, our skid steer Bobcat grading attachment gets the job completely and efficiently in a fraction of the time!
Each project requires a new survey upon completion to establish the accuracy of the data used. Our Engineers use innovative technology to ensure accurancy in surveying. We continually train in new Leica methods.
We operate an impressive and versatile fleet of vehicles capable of transporting a range of materials, aggregates and waste. We operate according to our Waste Carriers Licence and are a member of the Road Haulage Association (RHA).
We also provide a wide range of other services including road haulage, waste disposal, and plant and machinery hire.
