Soil Stabilisation

Soil Stabilisation

Considering the terrain and soil composition of many sites across the UK and Ireland, many areas of land can be unsuitable because the soil is too wet, too cohesive, or simply too weak to provide a stable base.

Historically this soil would mean replacement with new materials and aggregates. A process in itself adding time and further material costs to projects.

Soil Stabilisation enables contractors to maximise use of the site’s materials and obtain the properties that they need without removing unsuitable material and importing aggregates. This reduces overall cost, as well as waste, transport movements and carbon emissions. This is most beneficial in a time when sustainability figures highly and environmentally aware processes are welcome.

Soil stabilisation is a new area of work for McCormick Contracts but we have trained staff and operatives who can offer expert advice on the selection of the most appropriate method of soil stabilisation for any application. We work alongside an industry consultant to ensure that we are continually training and improving in our methods.
